Some Of My Favorite Podcasts

Recently I've been getting really into podcasts. Usually I'm not one to get hooked on something like them because I think I prefer something more visual or physical as a form of entertainment, but I was so wrong and these podcasts sank their hooks in! Turns out podcasts are great for me to listen along to while I'm doing other things like cleaning around the house, walking into town or working on blog posts and ideas.

Most people don't know this that much but I am obsessed with things that are creepy, weird and strange. I don't know why, I hate being creeped out and scared but it's something I always find so exciting at the same time. Of course these would be the kind of podcasts I'm drawn to. Not to say that other podcasts aren't equally just as great, it's just the ones I listen to have really caught my attention.

To kick of my little list here, I want to talk about one of my favorite podcasts and what I suppose got me into listening to podcasts as a whole. Lore is a bi-weekly podcast hosted by the amazing Aaron Mahnke. It covers things like scary true life stories, creepy urban legends from around the world, and some of the best fairy tales and ghost stories I've ever heard. Aaron Mahnke is a fantastic storyteller and the Lore podcast really helps to satisfy that creepy vibe craving I always have. It's not only the stories that I love about Lore but the atmosphere it creates for me, no matter where I am or what I'm doing, is so peaceful and eerie. Aaron Mahnke definitely created something perfect for my curious nature so I hope you give him a chance too.

Let's Not Meet: A True Horror Podcast

The title of this podcast is so fitting for what it's about. Let's Not Meet: A True Horror Podcast is an super creepy true stories podcast narrated and produced by Andrew Tate. Andrew gives listeners a first person account of stories that normal everyday people send into him about terrifying moments in their lives where they came close to or met someone or something that really shook them to the core. These stories can consist of things like stalkers, and strangers outside of peoples homes to scenes and scenarios that would have to be seen to be believed. I could easily sit here all day listening to everyone of these stories, never knowing what is in store for me in the next one, and then of course regretting it as I hide under the covers in bed. Definitely one to check out for a more intense fear.

The Last Podcast On The Left

This one is probably the one I've listened to the longest. The Last Podcast on the Left is a mix of true crime and paranormal, with a great touch of comedy so long as you share their dark humor style. The podcast is mainly hosted by Marcus Parks, Ben Kissel and Henry Zebrowski but does also have other writers and comedians joining them from time to time. Definitely not one for the faint of hard as this podcast covers some very dark and gruesome topics at times as well as not shying away from some of the more heavy hitting details involved in the subjects. However, if you have a dark sense of humor and an open mind, this is definitely one you have to check out for yourself!

Easily a life changing podcast for me! RISK! is one of my all time favorite podcast, and for once isn't a spooky one like the others. This podcast is hosted by Kevin Allison and is actually live show turned into a podcast (There's a book too!) with a collection of stories from bold, and sometimes shocking stories told by equally bold people. The subjects can vary from childhood stories that are so heart warming, to hilarious stories with a much more adult theme to them, and even to stories that have left me sobbing in tears by the end of them. It's impossible to sum up this podcast easily so go take a risk yourself and give it a go! I definitely recommend giving the story Tough Love a listen, and yes it's one of the one's that left me in tears so grab a box or two of tissues.
